The AUAV 2.4 GHz Spread Spectrum Conversion Kit contains all of the parts needed to convert a Tower HobbiesSystem 3000 6XM, a Futaba T6EXP or the older Futaba T6XA transmitter to 2.4 GHz Spread Spectrum.
The Kit is suppled with the a new 2.4 GHz Spread Spectrum transmitter board, transmitter antenna and an 8 channel 2.4 GHz Spread Spectrum receiver, The one receiver will do 6, 7, or 8 channels.
After the conversion is complete all of the programming and mixing functions that the transmitter had are still available for use on 2.4 GHz Spread Spectrum.
The system has a transmitter low power mode that is used for range testing and the receiver has 3 user selectable failsafe modes that are set with the push of a button,
you simply set the controls on the transmitter to where you want the failsafe's to go then move the failsafe set jumper to the arm position and press the failsafe set button then put the failsafe set jumper back to it's store position and the failsafe's are set.
The 3 failsafe modes.
Mode 1: Only the throttle will go to the preset failsafe all of the other channels go to last known good.
Mode 2: Throttle and Channels 5,6,7,8 go to the preset failsafe and all of the other channels go to last known good
Mode 3: All channels go to preset failsafe.
Switching failsafe modes.
The switching to any of the 3 failsafe modes is done with the use of a jumper on the receiver.
Changing from one failsafe mode to another will not require the failsafe's to be reset.
Once the failsafe's are set you can forget them unless you want to make a change to them.
Doing the conversion.
As for doing the conversion it is a very simple process there are only 4 or 5 wires (depending on the model of transmitter) that need to be solder to the new 2.4 GHz Spread Spectrum transmitter board and the new antenna has to be installed and connected to the 2.4 GHz Spread Spectrum transmitter board and it is done. It takes less than an hour.
